IT fair 2010

Hi readers...
I went to the it fair at suntec today. It was quite crowed but it was still ok for me as i went there earlier. I bought a few stuff like notebook cooler and protector. The things there were not only cheap but there were also a lot of free stuff. Although i spent 45 minutes travelling there, i felt that it was worth it.

My Sabbaticals (part two)

Hi readers...
Today, i will be blogging about my sabbaticals again. This time, it will be in greater detail. If you have read my previous post, u would have known that my sabbatical is aviation science and i have build a glider yesterday. Today, i improved on the glider and just before the competition, it could fly perfectly. However, during the competition, someone stepped on my glider and it broke just under the wing. I was determined not to give up and i mended the wing so that the ghlider can still fly...but not as well. When it was my turn to throw my plane, the wind suddenly became very strong and it slanted to the left and flew backwards. For the two tries, my plane did not flew for more than a metre.
Although i knew that at this rate, i had no chance of winning but i continue to mend my plane. After everyone had finished the race, i was given another chance to fly by th seniors. This time, it was more sucessful. My plane flew 11.6metres. From last, i became third. This taught me a very important lesson. NEVER GIVE UP!!!

My Sabbaticals

Hi all readers,
Today, i will be blogging about my sabbaticals. For this time, sabbaticals was a bit different for me. I have to host buddies from other cluster schools this time. my buddy was zhi en and we are participating in aviation science.
Let me tell you why i chose aviation science for my sabbaticals. Science young, i have facinated by planes like fighter jets and i know that this course will let me learn more about them and even learn the basics of piloting.
On the first day of sabbaticals week, i met my buddy in front of the clock tower and proceeded to start the course. We learnt the the basics of piloting and how a plane works on the first day. we also practise piloting a cessna plane (a plane for beginers) using microsoft flight simulator.
On the second day, we learn about the common mistakes of pilots so that we will avoid them when practising or even in the future. I feel that this type of teaching style is very interesting as we get to learn from both our and other's mistakes.
On the third day of the course, we learned how to pilot a world war two fighter plane, which i think was the most interesting part. although i was not able to control the plane well, i still think that the course had been very beneficial to me.
Today, i learn to build a glider using balsam wood, although my glider was still not working because the glue simply refuses to dry. I tried several times and this taught me the skill determination.
Overall, i think that my sabbaticals is very nice and informative and i would give it a 95/100.

Book Review - Snakehead

Snakehead is a book from the Alex Rider authored by Anthony Horowitz. The series is about a 14 year old young spy and his missions. In this book, he is working with the ASIS (Australian Secret Intelligence Service) and his mission is to dig out information about a criminal organization named Snakehead. He is disguised as an Afghan refugee who have paid snakehead to smuggle them into Australia. However, the odds are stacked against him and he was discovered very soon. When trying to escape from the snakehead, he meets M16, an intelligence service of Britain which he had worked for and this led him to a major crime that the snakehead was about to commit. Snakehead had stolen the Royal Blue, a strong and powerful prototype bomb developed by the British Government, and they wanted to use it to cause a tsunami that could kill hundreds of thousands. Alex's took up one more mission and it was to prevent the crisis from happening by finding and deactivating the bomb. Once again, he was caught by snakehead and snakehead did not want to kill him. They wanted to do something more cruel, selling his organs. Just before the night of the operation, Alex managed to escape from the hospital and he was able to prevent the tsunami from happening.

I find this book very interesting as well as very enriching. There were a lot of writing styles used and i believe that this would help me to improve my LA skills. I have read all of the 8 books in this series (this is the seventh book) and i find them all very exciting. The other series that Anthony Horowitz have authored is the Diamond Brother series which i have also enjoyed very much. Now, Anthony Horowitz is my favorite author.

The mockingbird lives in most of the continental United States from southern Oregon through northern Utah to Newfoundland and south to Mexico. Their habitat includes open country with thickets, farmland and desert brush and they feed on ants, beetles, grasshoppers, seeds and berries.

In my opinion, there is a lot of pine, hickory and oak trees in Maycomb and mockingbirds choose to live there because of the subtropical climate in maycomb, where it is not too hot nor cold, just right for the mockingbird.
